I have been hearing some popping in my 20 gallon tank for two weeks now and I noticed that my two inch pistol shrimp was hitting the glass. My question is just how hard can a pistol shrimp hit because it sounds as loud or louder than a mantis shrimp hitting a crab.I can hear it from the other end of the house.
i have heard of pistol shrimp busting glass before from hitting it like that. not sure where i read it but ill sell if i can dig an article up somewhere.
I had one in my tank that wreaked havoc. He would keep me up all night hitting the glass. I eventually had to pull tons of rock out to remove him.
I'm not worried that much about the noise, its the broken glass and water every where that I'm worried about.
