Hey guys, I'm wanting to make a top for my 29 gallon biocube using egg crate and pond netting. I don't mind buying the egg crate, but the pond netting only comes in large rolls, and I just need a couple of 2'X2' squares. If anyone has either of these thing sitting around that they could spare some, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
Current stocking list (Currently have zero, this is my planned list): Yasha or similar prawn goby and shrimp partner Some sort of wrasse (McCosker's, filamented flasher, etc.) Pair of Occelaris (one black and one normal) I'm running open top, but would like to have some sort of defense against fish suicide. I'm planning on copying something like this: Ok, so not the best picture in the world, but an egg crate frame w/ pond netting of equal size zip tied together. I know that this is not fool proof. The goby could definitely still get through if he/she really wanted to. If you have a better suggestion/something that looks nicer, I'm definitely interested. Thanks.
Ok, so egg crate around the edge to attach the pond netting to. The pond netting being thin would allow the light to pass through better, but still keep the critters in. Very cool, but I do not have pond netting, I may have the egg crate you need, but would have to paint it black. Have you talked to NSA to see if they have any scraps of the netting since they are getting big into the ponds?
No, haven'te talked to them yet, but I had thought of it. Is there any other materials that anyone can think of that will not impede light reaching the tank, but have a smaller mesh so that little fish (like a prawn goby) can't make it through?
