I am needing to replace my 18 watt PC-R bulbs over my nano and was wondering what recomendations people might have on the best brands. Â The ones that I have now are made by UV Lighting and the R in PC-R stands for internal reflector and they are straight pin bulbs. Â I am not happy with the bulbs that I have as they are very very blue - probably because they are 450nm and a blue color, just too much. Particularly when they are on either side of my metal halide being on, I want something that looks more like natural daylight but not yellow. Â It doesn't seem like these bulbs are available from UV Lighting Co. anymore so I am looking for a different brand. Â Let me know your suggestions.
Re: Re: Power Compact Lighting Have you thought of retro fitting led or 18 in. t-5s? I learned quite a bit at the swap. I'm thinking of getting 4 or 8 for moonlights or to add some shimmer to my set up. Raffle grabber
I do not have any need to invest in retro fitting to another lighting setup on this tank. Â Just looking for brands of PC lights that people like.
I like my JBJ replacement bulbs, they are a combo 10000K daylight and blue actinic, you can find them at jbjlighting.com.
The JBJ lighting on the nano tanks I have had has been very good. I have several lps corals in my daughters and the one I have has a nice rose anemone. I will use the same bulbs when I replace them.
I think most of the nano tanks come with compact lighting unless you choose an up grade. Brand depends on the mfg of the tank decision.
My 29 biocube had the coralife bulbs stock, I added two new bulbs so 2 coralife and 2 jbj. I would go with the jbj!!!
Sounds like everyone likes the JBJ so that is what I will get. Thanks everyone - I may wait to order till after the next meeting since it will be at Gregs and I can see them.
