Well I let my sump run all night last night. First time since I built the overflow. I am confident in this thing now. Got up this morning and my tank is crystal clear. Going to see everyone in searcy tomorrow, get a few frags from Sam, Pick up a 2x150 sunpod and I can't wait to see how things look. Thinking about keeping my aquascape just like it is except getting more rock to hide the overflow. Think this will give SPS plenty of room to grow UP and get pretty. I know the halides will kick up the coraline growth and pretty soon the rock should be covering good. Doesn't look real super now but I'm confident in three or four months it will be rocking.[IMG]

  2. Thanks for sharing - progressing nicely.

Might be a good idea to adding more Live Rock to help with biological filtration? Just looking to scale, seem like you might could use some more, many suggest 1 to 1 1/2 pounds Live Rock per gallon.

    Just a thought [IMG]

Yeah, it's got a long way to go. The halides are gonna help alot. I gotta get a little more flow also. Gotta do it as you get the money though. I can't wait till I get some rock to hide the overflow and everything gets covered in PURPLE. I took that pic with my phone. It does actually look a lot better in person. In a few months hopefully I will have 15 or 20 corals growing along and some fish as well. Once I get this one mastered it's off to the 135 in wall.

  5. Can't wait to see some pictures of the tank with halides. There are not many things that can bring an immediate change to a tank but an overflow will sure do the trick. Be cautious when adding the halide by starting with a short light duration initially. You might want to upload your pictures directly to a forum post rather than hosting them so that your posts don't expand so big. Their is script in our forum that auto resize so that posts to not over expand due to picture sizes and can be clicked on to view the original size image in a lightbox.

Here is a post that is at the top of all forums on the steps to do this - it is a lot easier in my opinion than hosting and then copying url's
