Thanks!! I had a great time yesterday!! Yep I had to get it up and going- the sooner the better! I'm not sure how much of a cycle it will go through... I added used sand and cured rock but it was all cold. I'll test in about a week- it will give me some time to research what i want to put in it.
while you are waiting feed the tank daily to boost the bacteria that way its strong for when you add inhabitants.
Great News!! When I turned the lights on I saw several pods!! So something is living in there!! One even did a little show and swam all around the tank. What do you guys think about adding some of the live tiger pods from the raffle?? (Does any one know how long they will live in the fridge?) Or will it kill them if it cycles? 5 tanks running ... 3 salt and 2 fresh. I'm pretty sure I will be turning the 55 fresh into a salt sometime soon. I really need a QT and I would like to move my LR from the rubbermaid container.
Tested the water this weekend and tests look fine. I have an ammonia alert stuck on the side and it hasn't changed from ideal. I also added some shrimp and other food last week. I thought for sure that would change things.?? So I'm just waiting...
Update The cycle shrimp I added is completly gone. All the water tests are good. I added a purple mushroom and zoas. I'm getting some aglae so I will probably add a small snail sometime soon.
this is the latest on the nano... I'm still adding to it. I have a pom-pom crab, snail and crab so far.
