Reef Keeper Lite

Anyone have one...

I got to work this mornign and was doing my nomal routine of surfing the web and I ran accross the head unit for 15 bucks..

Brand new in box unopend for 9 dollars plus S&H.... I snatched it...

Anyone know anythign about this thing.

I have been using the regular Reef Keeper for several years. I know that Kevin Koplen has used the lite. I know that with mine I got very frustrated when I pushes the amperage to it's limit. Now that I am running it on my nano it has been problem free.

 

Awesome find!  I've read a lot about the RKL's and I suggest you do the same.  You can upgrade these guys and do so many things with them.  Google them and download the user guide and continue your research from there.  They're pretty nifty by the time you get them all tricked out to your specs.  Keep us updated on how yours works out for you!  A lot of us are curious and/or debating the mertis of buying controllers. 

 

Upgrading to the 250 that I am there I want to automate as much as I can... I have been looking at a controler but I couldnt bare spending 300 on one...

I am going to peice this thing together and see how cheap I can get it... I figure I only need one of the outlet bars and the PH probe and temp deal..

Emphasis should have been on "one" I think... But I get what you mean, LOL.... I am going to look for deals on these parts.... they sure love their products.

 

Is this just the head unit or did it have a pc4 and temp probe with it. I also have a light head unit it has everything but a pc4 because I used it for my Elite becaus I need another pc4 unit and they cost around $90 the light comes complete with 1 pc4 and temp probe and is only $99. I got the one I bought complete unit for $50 on Ebay. They are a great unit when I went to get everything I needed to do what I wanted with it was going to cost more than what the Elite Plus cost through Blake so I went that way and robed the other pc4 from my light. You will love it when you get using it.

 

This is just the unit... not the extras... I am going to keep checking for the addons...

 

That is where you will spend lot of cash on the extras.

 

This is what I was afraid of.... but please, don't encourage his spending.  LOL

 

I am not paying full price for one of these things... They are WAY too much.... I will find parts here and there and when I have enough I will set it up.. I have enough stuff at the moment to keep me busy...

 

Man, finding deals is the fun part. Keep looking their out there.
