Well heres an update on this little project. It took Jeff and I about 4 hours to put it together and the bump ons worked to some extent. The problem that we had with them was they would slide around a little bit if we had to move the glass to line it up with the bottom. Bumpons are sticky on one side but I think if I use them again I will super glue them to the glass before I start to put it together. Today we water tested the tank and no leaks so its all Jeffs now.

Seems to be a popular method.

Thanks for all the help! I really appreciate everyone who has given us advice, lent a hand, and Sam for the use of his workshop and his expert knowledge!
You thought right, I was trying to jump start the cycle... and to my amazement it has gone well. I did order 100 lbs of super rock to assist in this process.  Last night (yes, folks, last night!! Just 1 day after getting my tank filled) I transfered all of my livestock over.  My fish are so happy they are swimming upside down.  They must be really over the moon.

Just curious, how much time was given for the silicone to cure? Also what type of silicone did you use?

We used silicone type one and we let it cure for about one month before filling it.
