I read so many good things about Rod's fish food, lots of RS members love it - wish some LFS (local fish store) would start carrying it, I would encourage all RRMSA members to check it out and then ask your LFS to start carring it. http://www.rodsfood.com/
Thanks I just checked out the website and looks like a great food! Would definatly buy it if our LFS stocked it.
Most of ours stock Coral Frenzy and I think it is one of the best, haven't used Rods but I can't imagine it being any better, all my corals love CF.
I have used ROD's and it is some really good stuff the only thing that gets me is its $20 for a pack. I also use coral frenzy and will continue using it even if rods becomes available.
I used marine snow for a little while and saw no visible changes. I switched to coral frenzy and in about a week or two I noticed the coral polyps open up more when I fed CF. I don't remember the ingredients in the marine snow but I think that they are not even close to the same stuff.
Hiya, I talked to Kevin about carrying Rod's food, but he said he'd have to charge $20 for it and he didn't know of many if any hobbiest that would spend that much on it, so he won't carry it. I have to admitt, "I'D" be hard pressed to rationalize spending that on food for my tank. Where can I get Coral Frenzie? Is it a powder or frozen food. I'm feeding reef prime right now, and I'm almost done and would like to try something different. Perferably not another frozen, but a liquid or dry food in smaller particals to feed my reef. AS for marine snow....I've heard it contains more water then good stuff for your reef. Used it once, wasn't impressed and now I don't recommend it. Would recommend cyclopeeze over that. I tried coral frenzy, got my 1st & only case of red slime. Rod's is a frozen food and can be fed like a cube of frozen. I only used a very very small pinch coral frenzy once a week & got cyano. I still use it, but very very little. You can feed Rod's like other frozen food, from what everyone is telling me. Frozen last so long... $20 sounds fair, I just hate paying overnight shipping on frozen. Rod's is raved about on most reef forums.
I use a quarter teaspoon a night of coral frenzy and have not a had an outbreak of cyno. Just goes to show you how each system is different.
Glenn I feed coral frenzy every night for a year or better and haven't had an issue from it. It is very good food especially for sps and filter feeders. I presoak mine in a small glass of water to rehydrate it first. Used to use cyclopesease and switch and immediatly noticed a substancal difference in feeding response. I haven't heard or read anyone who doesn't like it. I know there are people who like Rod's also.
RobbyF http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merc...reen=PROD&Product_Code=TLF-SNOW&Category_Code= We tried this stuff up north years ago before cyclopes eze and coral frenzy and found it did nothing to get a reaction out of corals and mainly polluted the tank as it says to use so much. Same with Mark Weiss pollutents, I mean products.
I have really been wanting to give Rod's a try... The particle sizes that range from 5 microns up to 3/8 of an inch that will feed corals, fish, crustations and micro fauna, my whole reef. Does anyone know if this store is still up & running, I just read they carry it. Saltwater Depot 1400 SW Susana BENTONVILLE, AR 72712 Phone: 479 464 0663

I just finnished the bag of Rod's I got in October. $20 is very fair for 5 months of food I think and I am a heavy feeder. The fish and the corals love it. I have had incredible luck with Acans and I think Rod's is why. Once a week I add a scoop of Coral Frenzy to the Rods and don't notice much difference. I continue to use it because everyone else loves it and my COCO Worm likes it as well. I would by the Rod's from a LFS but they may not want to stock a lot of it because it does last a long time. Please let me know if anyone starts carrying it.
Everyday on Reef Sanctuary someone raves on Rod's ! Wish some Local Fish Store would start carrying it !
