Easy to set up straight forward design that uses recirculation for its mixing process. Easy to charge with Kalk, and easy to clean. So far the unit has been trouble free and more importantly leak free. I would rate this product an A+

After a year or so the only thing I diont like is the recirculation system...the maxie jet pump just does not seem to have enough power to mix the kalk...

Scuba If I had it to do over again I would use a stirrer style, since I had to remove the top and stir my Precision Marine one because the maxi jet 400 wouldn't very good. I installed a 600 on it and found I was dumping unsettled lime water in the tank and that was calcifing all the heaters and tunze streams and it didn't help the corals either. There has been some threads on RC about this subject and most seem to agree the stirrer is better, I can't say as of now I am dosing since resetting up. cheers

At work out in the plants we use aggitation and circulation to get good mixing. So i think the combination of a magnetic stirrer and a maxiejet would be the best of both worlds. There are some stirplates out there a bit pricy...maybe my boss(chemist) will let me rebuid one thats out of sevice.

My Reef Tek unit uses a MaxiJet which works pretty well. It did break an impeller though.
