What I've got for lighting right now is the 96 watt quad bulb. I've already decided the next equipment acquisition will be an RO/DI system (currently using the Tap Water Purifier system) and so my lights are likely to stay this way for atleast another year. I'd like to take a stab at an SPS. I've heard montipora are typically the least light demanding. This isn't set in stone and I'm not likely to proceed unless I'm reasonably sure I can make it fly. What do you all advise? Fwiw, I can get and keep a frag within 1.5" of the lamp if need be. Though I wouldn't get to see it much.
Here's a pretty good background article on reef tank lighting: http://www.wetwebmedia.com/marlgtganthony.htm
