I really like the look of the Kenya Trees and from what I understand they are one of the easier to care for corals. Those are ideal for me, since I don't have spectacular lighting, etc. I think I'd like to put one in my 12 gal nano.

Since I'm new to the whole reef thing, could someone tell me at what point I can put one in my tank? (after cycle, of course) and if it will be compatible with some clown fish? Aside from that, what else would I need to properly care for it so it will grow? I know you bring home a frag and that's about it.. don't even know how to get it to attach to rock! lol!

    Thanks guys, you're amazing!

My first coral was a kenya tree, and it it still one of my favorites!

At the store we recommend a few weeks after your cycle is over before adding coral, but some here might disagree. As for care I have a bit of flow on it and occassionally feed coral frenzy and rods coral food, butt I didn't do that for months and it still grew pretty well.

You cant kill them.. If things are off for a while it may look like its dying but as soon as you think it is dead it drops its limbs and 5 more come up and you soon have a kenya forest.. Easy coral to take care of... Nothing special for this one. Temp at 78 or so salinity at 1.023 and a little light and a bit of indirect flow to help it shed when it does and you will have a very hardy coral.... I have 2 that are coming on strong in my big tank and i havnt had one in there in 6 months.. they just popped up... Enjoy.

Yup, I was about to say (on FB) that you're going to end up with a forest of Kenya trees! They are crazy like that! ;)
