Just go to kroger and get 1 raw shrimp from the fish department and put in the tank. It is a lot easier to transport and will most likely work faster. I used this method in my tank and it cycled in a week. You are also reducing the risk of getting an "STD" from the other persons dirty water. If you are using the dirty water method to avoid the cost of the fresh saltwater... you may be getting into the wrong hobby.
    Good luck

ROFL @ STD. lol thats funny TTD sounds better but Foxrep is right just get you a raw shrimp trust me its alot easier. if u get a raw shrimp you wil have more than a few kinds of bacteria to jump start your tank or buy some rubble rock . just my 2cent.

Glad I could make you laugh Whit! I use STD = ShortCut Tank Dis-ease, to remind me not to just put random things in my tank wo taking the proper measures of protection. If you don't play by the rules you can catch something that can? cost a lot to get rid of, or kill everything in your tank. The Aptasia I got from not putting a frag in ?quarantine cost me a pretty penny to get rid of. Flat worms wern't as bad. Both could have been avoided.
