Hiya, Okay, it's that time of the year to change my bulbs out. I'll be putting in two whites and a blue, but I've got the choice of a violet or a pink to round it out. Any opinions? Kim/Benton, AR
I am assuming you have a 4 bulb system? I have a 6 bulb ATI Sunpower and I run ATI bulbs. They are without a doubt one of the best bulbs on the market. They are VERY bright. I run 3 Blue Plus, 2 Aqua blue special, and 1 Purple plus. The color has a blue tint but not smurf blue. The Blue Plus bulbs combines the colors of a grow bulb and an Actinic, the Aquablue Special is a slight blue, about 12000K (grow bulb). Purple plus is self explanatory. If you go to BRS and look up ATI bulbs you can get a good break down of what does what. Are you running a 48" system? When I do my bulb swaps I try to keep at least one of each as an emergency back up. I can let you try out my spare Blue Plus and Aqua Blue if you want.
From what I've read/seen in a 4 bulb set up I would run ATI (1) Coral Plus (1) Purple Plus and (2) Blue Plus. Agree ATI is the way to go. I have a 2 bulb fixture on my little frag tank and run 1 Coral Plus and 1 Blue Plus.
Hiya, I'll have to see what Kevin carries...and yes, I have a four bulb system. He thought I'd need to run two whites to make sure I had enough light. Thought of running one of each. Kim/Benton, AR
The best thing you can do to improve your T5 is use quality bulbs. What overall color are you looking for?
When I used T5s I always referred to this chart http://blog.reefgeek.com/2013/07/popular-t5-bulb-combos.html?m=1
Hiya, I'd like to see growth on my corals! Granted, my softies are doing fine, but my LPS seem to be a little slow. Nice chart John....that helps a lot! Kim/Benton, AR
