    Its ALIVE !!!!
We filled it with fresh water to test everthing and to make sure everything is sealed. So far everything is working great and the SCWD is moving the water around well.
Then turned the power off to see if we had plenty of "Extra" storage in the sump and it worked well...

Congrats, now you should be off and running. Remember go slow and enjoy a nice tank set up.

im fixing to drill a 29 to make it reef ready so i may steal some of your ideas!  What size should the bulkheads be for drain and return?  Also what did you paint the PVC with and is there any concern of it contaminating the water?

We went with 1" bulkheads which are more than enough for the tanks pump. I just used a regular flat black spray paint and allowed plenty of time for it to completly cure. Im not really worried about anything leaching from it. Used 100% silicone to glue the overflows to the tank and allowed it to completly cure.

By the way we added 80 pounds of marco sand and filled the tank with saltwater today. Its on its way to cycling now...

Things are looking really good.  My seven year old son is about to begin his journey into saltwater.  We are going to be doing an easy to maintain ten gallon.  Simple corals, two small fish, snails, etc.  He is very excited.

Thats awesome Jason. I just got another 10 gallon yesterday for our 9 year old. Its just going to be a FO tank with a damsel or two and a HOB filter.
