Hey reefers. What is that one piece of equipment that made the most impact on your system. The one that if failed or removed you would immediately fix or replace? For me it is my auto top-off. I've run my system for three years without it but now that I have it in place I cannot ever imagine a reef tank without. All of my parameters are stable and my sps are colored up and growing rapidly!! What is your "one piece of equipment?"
New LED fixture, reduced heat in tank by 5 degrees on average over metal halide and everything seems to be growing and thriving, with less power consumption and MUCH less heat.
My UV sterilizer! The bulb went out on it about four months ago and I noticed a difference in my tanks cleanliness within a day. Nothing much but it was the first time I had to use the magnet cleaner since I set up the tank. I check it a lot more often now.
My refugium is crawling with them. I have to use a magnet cleaner to whip them off the glass to see my crinoid for feeding.
