Don't even have the tank yet but here are a couple of pics, Rock in the Brute will be cycling by this weekend, just water a heater a pump and a shrimp.... A couple shots of the rock. I have about 250 pounds to play with so just have to get a scape figured out the tank I am getting is in Biloxi so wont even get it till late March. Any thoughts? I listed on new members equipment but will duplicate here. 120 dual overflow DSA Mag 12 Return Warner Marine Kone 201 Skimmer Aqua UV 57W Sterilizer Radion Gen 2 lights GFO and Rox8 in 2 TLF 550 reactors Mag 7 into custom header for Reactor feed.
Wow, you have enough rock for two 120's! Look forward to the aquascape and seeing this come together! Interested in the TLF reactors. I'm using BRS reactors for GFO and Rox8. They're ok for the carbon but not as impressed with them for GFO, too hard to tune and won't stay tuned.
I can't find anything that really works with GFO finally settled with the TLF and balance them each weekend change out usually every 4 weeks. Going minimal fish and no SPS in this system so P04 should not be as critical.
Picked up the tank and stand this weekend got them in the house and am not happy with the height of the stand 43" is too much. I have contacted a fabricator and am having a metal stand built 32" tall as you can see from the picture way to close to the ceiling and that is without the lights mounted.
What's really great David , is this was my wife's suggestion she hates this tub, I'll probably have to replace it for her. Woman has plans...... My actual sump is going to be a 150 gallon Rubbermaid tub I am going to pick it up this weekend, this build is slow but steady. The skimmer is a Warner Marine Cone MF 251 twin Skimz ES5000 pumps, its a beast, cup holds about a gallon, I believe it was built to Warner's specs by Skimz.
I was thinking it had to be an 8" cup at least. Skimmer effectiveness shouldn't be an issue....I wish I could fit one that big underneath my stand.
Well got an Apex donated less display so bought it today. have an EB4 and EB8 WXM mod and 3 probes. I guess I have to figure out how to move into the digital fishkeeping age....
Finally got water bunch of changes at work so not cutting thru the wall yet. Using a 40b for a sump and simple plumbing water just beginning to clear way to much rock in the tank will work in that tomorrow.
Sorry we couldn't stay yesterday, had the house at 80 to help stabilize the tank with no heater. Here it is this morning.LPS with a few fish.
