I'm in the market for a refractometer after the last time of being fed up with my digital one that has to be calibrated constantly. I like the milwaukee one we have at the store but thats the only one I've really messed with. So any inputs or reviews of different ones would be lovely :)

I bought mine from bulk reef supply, cannot recall the company but it was $35 or $40. I've had it over a year now and the calibration remains accurate.

Premium Aquatics has a refractometer that is easy to read and works pretty well from what I can see. I sell them too, so.... :D

Marine depot variety here. Basically anything will work as long as they are auto temperature compensating, and you calibrate with a salt solution instead of RO. I think the recommended solution to calibrate with is the Pin point brand of solution.

You have to be careful of the eBay ones. Some are brine (NaCl only), wine, urine, or some other solution.

But like I said, if you calibrate with the correct salt solution, you can calibrate to where we need it to read accurately on the scale.
