I agree with breaking one of the rocks up - even number always look a bit unnatural to me. I have used a sawzall with an agressive blade to cut a rock in half. Also had good success in using a drill and putting more holes along the line I want the rock to fracture at. A chisel and hammer usually finishes the break but sometime you end up with rubble.
Question about the return, it seems like if I keep full pressure on the return, I just get a jet of water out of the small siphon stop hole instead of the jets... Any ideas? Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
4 large rocks may look awkward right now but by the time you get your corals grown out and blending together you won't even notice it. The only thing I would add would be a bridge connecting two of them together. That would also offset the 4 big pieces. That's a nice tank.
The "rule of thirds" plays well into aquascape too. It's a photograph technique where the focus of your image is not in the center. I am at work right now, but I'll try to post a graph of what it is. But basically you want to focus the eye to the left or right of the tank. You may have greater height on one side of the tank, or feature your most eye catching coral there. OK everybody, got the lights up, fixed the plumbing issues (including reseating the bulkhead {whew!}) And all seems well! Pressure is never better and the tank is clearing up little by little. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
Very nice tank!! The water coming out of the siphon hole is normal. It will clog over time, mine did. Make sure you have one of your return outlets near the surface of the water to brake the siphon if you lose power. Are you going to use anything to jump start you nitrogen cycle?
Thanks! I was actually able to fix the spraying for the most part when I fixed the bulkhead leak. I am not sure that I am going to jump start or not, I ran the water levels yesterday and I had zero ammonia, had some nitrites and no nitrates. Will probably let it sit for a few days and clear up and then decide if I want to throw a shrimp in there or phantom feed.
