I am setting up a 75 FOWLR aquarium and I need to have an idea of the total amount of inches of fish this system can safley support. This way I can carefully research my fish options.

    75AGA
30 gal refugium with cheato and sand bed
    coralife 125 skimmer
    Hydor 2 ph

It really depends on your filtration and water movement. Big sump, big skimmer and lots of gas exchange at the water surface = more fish.

My refugium is going to be 30 gallons. I am going to use a coralife 125 super skimmer. I was planning on usin a 600 gph per hour overflow and a rio 2100 return pump. If you see mods to this set you recomend please reply. Nothing is set up yet.

That's a nice size fuge. Are you not going to have a sump for the equipment?

i personally do not like the fcor5alife skimmers. i have one now and it takes tinkering weekly to keep the bubble stream right. i would look into some better models if it were me. overskimming a fowler tank will give you more fish room as well.

I was planning on placing a baffle in the fuge to store the equipment i.e. skimmer, return pump and heater. What would be a better skimmer than the coralife?

If you haven't already bought the Coralife, get an ASM and be done with it. Norman can vouch for them too - ask him about his skimmate. The G-1 or G-1X would be perfect for what you need.

    Just my .02.

Well I decided to go with a Aqua C urchin pro in sump model skimmer. My stocking plans are as follows. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. No corals will be added. Will start with base rock seeded with some live rock

    3 Blue/Green Chromis to start
Maroon or Clarki Clown have not decided which one and anemone to accompany
    Flame hawk fish
    Tomini tang
Possibly a starfish of some sort.

The maroon clown will be more aggressive than the clarkii in the long run (although both can be VERY territorial) and both species get big. Clarkii's host in several different anemones. NSA had a nice selection of rose BTAs this summer.

The flame hawkfish is really cool with a lot of personality. We had one named Mike. Be sure you have a good cover as they can jump out of the tank (as Mike did). A hawkfish in the tank will limit the invertebrates you can keep. They'll eat any inverts (crabs, shrimp, etc.) they can get in their mouth.

Oh yeah, we have an AquaC Remora Pro which is the HOB version of the Urchin. It works well and is easy to adjust. I wish the collection cup was bigger though.

I too have an aquaC remora pro HOB style skimmer and a 75G tank. I've had good luck so far. It's a little loud but skims like mad. I don't have the box because I have a ton of water loss and I'm afraid of running the pump dry.
