We may be aquiring a male Naso Tang from another individual who is getting out of the hobby...
I want to keep the guy, but Mann is a little discouraging.... We already have the Sohal, Yellow Tang and the Purple Tang.... just looking for your opinion on the matter.   I think that once we transition from the 75 gal to the 250 gal, it may not be a problem since they'll have a little more room to roam.
    Whatcha think?

What size are all the tangs right now. Please include the naso as well.

Our Sohal is just about 5", the Purple Tang is around 3-3 1/2" and the Yellow Tang just about 2-2 1/2"...  by the looks of it, the Naso is a good 6-7".........

You should be fine for a while but remember big fish, Big poo. Your nitrates could get out of hand pretty quick when those guys grow up. Keep in mind that you shouldn't think about adding any more big fish to the new tank cause the tangs will get pretty big and need room. At least thats what I think.

Thanks for your input.  I really wasn't thinking about adding any fish really until we ran into this guys lot... (I have a thing for tangs, lol)   - Still undecided......

Looks like we *may* have a Naso Tang up for adoption soon if we take this guy's tank off his hands.

A note on the naso and the sohal. The sohal tangs are known for being very aggressive as they age. Territorial and all. Another Acanthurid type tang would probably not turn out well. Just my two cents, YMMV

Yeah, the aggression was my main concern with Sohal and Naso...... I ? my Sohal... so, I think I'll opt for keeping the peace. ?  :)

Glad to see someone make a wise decision. Sometimes it's a good thing to take advise.

2+ Norm. Everything that i have read and heard says that Sohals are one of if not the biggest bullies when it comes to tanks.

Thanks for all of the responses, guys....
And, sweetie.... I DO listen to you.... lol.... I just needed to meditate on it for a bit.  :-]
Well, I happen to know of a large Naso tang that needs a good home... he's currently being housed in a 90g....   the guys wants to sell his whole lot, but I'm sure he'd part with just the tang separately.   He is beautiful.  =]

A 7" Naso should be in nothing less then 6' long, minimum. And then he need to be about the only tang of any size and not over crowded with corals and other fish. If he isn't, all he well do is pace back and forth in the tank, and that is how you know he isn't happy.
