I really had not planned on getting a neme but if I'm going to keep Zoas/Palys AND clownfish I guess I'm going to have to. My clowns have been content for over a year using my overflow as a "host" but for the last couple of months they have worried my zoas to the point of killing them. My big mixed Zoa rock I got at the NWA frag swap is almost decimated by them. Luckily they don't seem interested in my Sunny D's, Magicians or Rastas.

So....BTA the only choice for ocellaris clowns? Are there any particularly cool colors? Where would be a good place to get one? I know they are going to set up shop where THEY want to go but how do you go about introducing them to the tank?

    Are your clowns captive bred

There are other nems that can host them but they're a little more dangerous for your other fish. I'd stick with bta. As far as adding one to your tank just drip acclimate like you would a fish. I did mine over 90 minutes. Place it where'd you'd like and keep an eye on it while it roams so you can move things if needed. Once it finds a place both of you are happy with, feed it a little more frequently and it will be more likely to stay put. My clowns took a couple of months before they realized it was there for them. I got mine from DD but I've seen them at the Fish Tank.

Yes and obviously learning disabled! :D

Thanks John. I'm gonna think about this one for a while. Really don't want to give up a big chunk of prime SPS real estate

I have an extra speckled rose BTA for 30 bucks whenever you decide what you want to do! My clowns are learning disabled and very special so they don't need it they have the pvc pipe they sleep in.

If you have Oscellaris, BTA is not the way to go in my experience and research. Oscellaris and Perculas are big carpet fans. I have a carpet and mated pair of oscellaris coming to my tank, Which worries me about my lawnmower blenny. That said carpets are bottom dwellers, so most coral should be safe.

I had a really big carpet in the past and clowns loved it. My new BTAs are just too small to make a good host for anything.

I would go for the BTA doc. A carpet anemone would be great, (you know I've built a tank to house one), but I think you run a huge risk of your other fish being eaten. Is the gigantea carpet as aggressive as the haddoni? I know they are harder to keep, but awesome.

OR how about a large and long polyped toadstool? Those can be similar to an anemone, but not as dangerous.
