I noticed a bristle worm not to long ago, he's not really big more of maybe the width of a number 2 pencil. The only other thing I can think is I have some hair algae maybe it's smothering it out but I blast off the frag usually 1 a day or so. I'm out at Hamilton right now I'll take a new one and post one when I get back tomorrow

Alright I've been concerned but they haven't been losing color or anything so I was thinking maybe it's the diff in sps and lps. Will it finish filling out the frag before it tries to spread to my LR? My gsp has a Matt that it uses to spread. Do these guys split like anemones or do other heads seed and the grow like a flower?

They grow on a mat like GSP. Not exactly but pretty similar.

What John said^. Sometimes it won't be a solid mat but fingers of transluscent material that the new polyps will grow from. It may "get off the plug" before filling in the middle.

Awesome I just sent him a pm asking about how exactly to frag. Do you have to cut the frag rock or trim up with a razor blade like gsp?

Either way works but for attaching them to a disc is easier with a small piece of rock still attached. Regardless, fragging zoas and palys can be very dangerous. Please please please wear eye protection, do not have exposed cuts on your hands, and wash your hands thoroughly after you are done and before your hands touch anything else. Zoas and Palys contain Palytoxin. It is nothing to mess with and will certainly ruin your day.

Yea I read up on them and found this out..and then shortly after seen a thread on here of someone's dog licking up some water they were soaking in... but back on/off track I always thought its kinda cool how everything bright color in nature has a natural defense to harm whatever tries and eats it, some more harmful than others
