This week I added about 100 lbs of rock that I had to bleach off some bad green algea. Just returned it to the tank about 3 days ago. Now I have a brown looking algea that is starting to take over the bottom on the sand. Any suggestions???
You got yourself a diatom bloom. It is more than likely caused from the die off of the algea that you removed and it has caused a mini cycle. I have found that a sand conch or two will help keep it cleaned off fairly well. I would check your parameters to make sure that the cycle has finished before you add the conchs. Thats what it looks like to me.
