What is the minimum light requirement for a Bubble Tip Anemone . I would like to add one for each pair of my black clowns and pink skunk clowns. I have 3 different tanks setups and a pair in each tank. all have different lighting on each tank: vho's, t5's and power compact. Which would be the preferred lighting as I will be moving the clowns into whatever tank need be to accomodate for the anemone. I tried some hairy shrooms hoping they most go for it but they weren't interested in the least. I love the carpet anemones but seems to be greater potential for them eating my fishy friends so not an option for my tank.
Carpet's like a lot of light. At least the VHO's, maybe the T5's-depending on how many watt's you have with them.
VHOs or T5s would be fine for a BTA. PCs are OK if the anemone will stay up high in the tank. NSA had some nice rose BTAs the last time I was there.
I have to disagree about PC's, even if the animal is up high. I have a Rose BTA in my Biocube, and under the stock PC's it didn't do well at all. I thought I was going to lose it - and my tank is only 16" deep. In fact, my anemone was the main reason for my upgrading to an HQI fixture. I would say VHOs minimum, but that's just my $ .02. =)
thanks for the replies everyone. I have been doing some rearranging of my livestock in my tanks so the Bubble Tip will most likely go in my tank with the t5's and my pink skunk clowns.
