Hello all, I was told that we do a Secret Santa type thing in December. Will someone please give me a little more info. John
Hmm that would be interesting to have for sure! I'll be bringing some overstock zoas for whoever comes!
Usually everyone brings a frag of some sort and we draw numbers for a dirty Santa distribution. In other words, your frag can be stolen. If you don't have frags, you can provide a gift certificate or dry good or buy one and bring it.
Hiya, I think we need to remove the rule where something can only be stolen three times. That locked out a lot of good corals for those that had higher numbers. Kim/Benton, AR
Sweet. I'll frag today so that it has some time to recover and start growing again. Technically I accidentally fragged my Montipora Elkhorn on Sunday...about 4 or 5 times but now I'll glue it to some rubble. John
Pics of the Montipora Elkhorn As you can see it is pretty plain, nothing special on color (tan), just different because I have parts that are encrusting and parts that are branching in all sorts of directions. View attachment 11829 View attachment 11830 John
Hiya, It's something most of us don't have...it might color up differently in someone else's tank. The blue zoa's from the Searcy event are red in my tank. Kim/Benton, AR
Looks like the zoas where radioactive dragon eyes and watermelons which would be the red ones. For anyone who wants to know
For my Secret Santa piece do you reefers want, Two (very thin) 1-1.5 inch pieces of that tan Montipora Elkhorn I posted earlier or One 1.5-2 inch piece of ORA Scripps? John
Ora Scripps is my vote! I'm thinking about bringing either an ~30 head trumpet coral, a 2.5" 2 spot bristle tooth tang or a 1" frag of a blue acro with green polyps. What say ye?
The blue acro would be pretty cool but I would probably say the trumpet. I have never been successful with frogspawn, hammer, or trumpet.
HIya, I'm waiting to see what coral decides to drop a baby before I decide. If nothing does, I'll just pry something off and bring it. Kim/Benton, AR
