There's an interesting story on the Advanced Aquarist online website about an electrified reef in Bali increasing coral growth. Norman, you need to get this system.

    Hiya

I'd be interested in reading it. Can you post a link?

I would love to try something like this on a small aquarium sized scale. I have read most of these articles and first saw this done several years ago. I need to do some more research on what kind and voltage electricity to use. None of the articles I have read has been specific about these details. If you have seen anything please let me know. I did find this in my reading:

Biorock technology is patented: Biorock Inc. has exclusive global rights to the technology for commercial purposes in mariculture, environmental and ecological restoration, shore protection, and production of building materials, and the Global Coral Reef Alliance for uses with non profit organizations, such as fishermen's cooperatives, community groups, and marine parks. Both organizations are prepared to license, train, and work directly with all interested partners to restore tropical seas and create new economic production by farming coral reefs. Investment in large-scale projects is urgently needed before it is too late to save our marine resources.

Biorock® is a registered trademark of Biorock, Inc. The Biorock® Process is owned by Biorock®, Inc.

    Does sound interesting though !!!

I get zapped from time to time by stray voltage in my tank.... Doesn't seem to be doing too much for my corals! LOL
