I am in the final stages of collecting equipment for my new frag system. It will consist of 4 48x24x8 frag tanks with 2 1/12" drains and 3 1" down to 3/4" returns. The sumps are 48x18x13 and will have a mag 18 return pump and an ASM G1X skimmer along with a large section for live rock and macro algae, and the usual support equipment. I have decided on LED lighting and am making a decision on the final make and model. The sumps will be lit with T-5's from my old system. Kevin Koplen has completed my new individual oak stands, and rolling frag station. I am always impressed with his woodworking skills. I will be posting pictures as the build begins. I have decided to make the frag tanks into 4 separate systems to allow for quarantine, fraging, grow out, and display for trade and sale. My plan is to have the whole system up and running by the Aug. meeting that will be held here.
Working on it now, getting started was the hard part. Plumbing and water is all I need for the first two.
I will have some free time over the 4th Holiday, let me know if you need me to come up and help with anything.
Well final decisions have been made and everything should be here by Friday. Decided to go with: Neptune Apex Controller AI Hydra LED Lights ASM G-1X Skimmers Speedwave DC-10000 2640GPH 6 Speed Return Pumps 50gal-L Sumps I would appreciate anyone who would like to stop by after the meeting Sat. and give me a hand setting up these tanks. I am only a couple miles from Toad Suck Park. Mainly just connecting plumbing parts and hanging lights.
OK, Sat 8-11 I will be working on the sumps, plumbing, and lights if there is time. If you would like to help or just watch for your entertainment, there will be lots of B.S. to hear and maybe Pizza to eat. I could use the help.
I know, I didn't change my calendar until after I posted. We got the sumps done today and plan to finish up most of it tomorrow afternoon. Should have water in them this week. (at least two)
Looks great! Can't wait to see them full of frags. Where did you get your live rock and what skimmer is that you're running?
