I have a lot of these thing around my corals. Â For months i have not been able to figue out what is ramdomly causing most of my corals to die. I have tested water like crazy and everything is perfect. I even took sample to LFS and they couldnt find anything wrong. Â I do 35 gallon water change on 225 every week. Â Bought all new bulbs. Â Water quality, and lighting are ruled out. Â I have also looked for pest as in red bugs by taking affected coral out and putting into coral rx and then blowing them off with a powerhead to see if anything came off and nothing. Acros, Montis, Millis and just about any other sps i have has died, but a few of them are doing well and growing. Â I even have a large millipora that i had broken off a piece and put on the other side of the tank and the large collony died and the small part is doing great. Â Yesterday i did notice I have a few vermetid snalls around a lot of the affected coral. Â Maybe the mystery is solved? Idk. Â I have read to try Copper banded butterfly (not a fish I want), emerald crabs (already have 3), Hawaiian hermits (do not have, but do have many other hermits) and peppermint shrimp(have none). Â The main other fix i have seen was super glue. i spot of glue in their tube and they are done. Â My issue is there are so many that it would take forever to do, but main problem is i can not reach all of them. Â My tank is built into the wall and the bottom about 4' off the flour, so i have access at the back of the tank in what i call my aquarium room. Â It is about 12' by 6' with all my equipment in it. The bottom front of my tank i just cannot reach. Â I was hoping someone has had some luck with these vermetid snail or good information. Some say they are no problem and others say they can kill coral. Â Any help is appreciated, I really need to find out what is going on with my coral. Â I'm putting too much money in to just have them all die. Â If anyone has any ideas or would want to come and take a look at my tank, that would be cool. Thanks.
what people told me on here is get the nutrients down and they should go down in numbers i had the same problem now most of mine are gone...
I can't answer the question from experience, but here's a link to perhaps a helpful article. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-01/rs/index.php
