Would it be ok to put my hawkfish in my reef tank if there are shrimp also in tank? I was told that hawkfish would eat shrimp. Currently he is is another tank with a sally lightfoot and there is no problem.

again, that is true. some people have some large shrimp in with a hawkfish and nothing happends. All of a sudden the shrimp molts and it's like the hawk had been waiting for the big event. Then, no shrimp. Sometimes it happends with crabs that do not live in a shells, when it molt it's body and claws are soft and it has no defenses. Good luck and thanks for the good questions.

  4. I love hawkfish because they have so much personality. If you want to have shrimp too then your best shot is adding the hawkfish last. I have lost one to jumping as well so besure to cover you tank initially which is always a good idea anyway.
