New to the forum, but I have had my 75 gal. reef tank for 10 years. My setup is basic! I have HOB Aquaclear with some live rocks, Aqua C HOB Protein Skimmer, 2 Tunze power heads, Tek Light T5 with 6 bulbs w/mounting legs, and about 60lbs. of sand 100lbs. of live rock. Eventually I would like a sump once I learned more about it and a canopy with T5 retrofits! The site was recommended to me by a couple of your members who bought some things from me on Craigs list(a while back). They picked up the purchased product and saw my aquarium. I had a lot of questions for them and they were very knowledgeable. I try to make my reef as self sufficient/balanced as much as possible due to my busy schedule and it has been working.(Sorry for the Intro.) back to the question???

Other than spending hours picking them off or trading in my rock, does anyone have a method on getting rid of them. I wouldn't mind if they spread only on 1 side of the tank where I placed them, but they decided to invade.

  3. I do know mushrooms like low to medium light and low current, maybe increasing both could help control them some.

I would try & sell them [IMG]

If I can pick them and keep them alive I would give them away! As soon as I get home today I'll try to post picks.

I've heard as long as some stem remains, there is a good chance of them coming back. If there is nothing else on the rock and you can pull it out... you can try pulling\scraping off as much of the mushroom as possible. If you don't want them to come back, pack some aquarium salt into the area where the mushroom was and let it sit for 10 minutes. That should disolve any mushroom left. Rinse the salt and put it back into the tank. Here's a good video on removing technique.
