As I mentioned in closing my 16g nano tank, this is my new tank. I received it the week before last. It was well packed, though it didn't come with any instructions on building the stand or system set up. I sent them an email about 7pm on a Friday and received an email back with the instructions almost immediately. So far, I'm pleased with customer service. I also have an 18g sump with it. I'm using an Cadlights PLS 100 pipeless skimmer, one of the newer upgraded ones. I also added lighting rails to hang lights. I'm debating on Ecotech vs. AI LED lights. Both may be overkill for my planned softie/LPS tank, but in case I want to move to sps, I'd rather have the light to do it vs. having to buy another one. I got a few pounds of good looking reef rock from The Fish Tank, added live sand mixed with dry sand, added a couple of dry tonga branches from BRS, and will eventually place the rock in my nano in the tank as well for about 40-65 lbs of rock. Livestock plans are moving my tiger pistol shrimp & goby pair, peppermint shrimp, clownfish and tailspot blenny over within the next week or so depending on the cycle. Once everything is happy and content for a while, eventually would like to add some 1-2 more colorful fish, considering a dwarf angel (I know chancy with a soft/LPS tank), yellow or green coris wrasse, tilefish, zebra barred dartfish. As far as coral goes, I'll have the, favia, kenya tree, pink tipped palm cloves, a few zoas, gsp, devil's hand, neon green sinularia that are in my nano. Future coral tbd, probably included some sort of euphyllia. Here's a couple of photos so far:

I put some chaeto from my RSM refugium hoping to populate some pods, and it will absorb some nitrates from the cycle as well so hopefully won't have too much of an ugly algae cycle.

Love these tanks. Have seriously been thinking about this or the sc aquariums 66g cube. Great setup.

Palytoxin, did you just make that up?

And I loved my coral beauty angelfish, until he decided to jump. Very nice colors on them.

Love the rimless look! Where did you get your sump? Did you build it yourself?

There is a great thread on RC where people summarize their experiences keeping dwarf angels with reef tanks. As I recall Flamebacks and Coral Beauties were the most reef safe. My Flameback has been a model citizen so far. I thought I caught him nipping at a pocillipora once but there was a free piece of nori stuck underneath it.

Look forward to the progress pictures!

The sump came with the tank. I got it as a package deal, tank, sump, stand, skimmer and all plumbing and pumps. I added the heater, powerheads, eventually lighting, ato.

Well, my kitchen is being worked on Tuesday so I hastened the transfer of my livestock to this new one. Everything went well and fish/shrimp seem to be settled in. All the rock that I used with the exception of a couple of dry rocks were well cured and of course the ones that were in my old tank. I tested 0 for ammonia and trites so hopefully, things will stay that way. I also used Dr. Tim's One and Only as an insurance policy. I actually cycled my nano with the stuff and everything went smoothly then. I'll get a photo when things clear up.

The move went well. All fish and coral are thriving. Here are a couple of iphone photos, sorry for the blue tint.

Okay time for a couple of video updates. The first is my shrimp/goby pair who seem to love their new and bigger home.

The second is an semi'overall view of the tank. My wrasse and blenny are best pals. They swim together a lot.

Nice videos John! I really like the interactions of your animals, that is pretty neat. I also like the look of this tank. I'm not sure if it's the barnacle shells, or what that does it, but the aquascape has a more "sinister" look to it, which is something that I really like. It looks really natural. I can't wait to see it at one of the upcoming meetings! And I'm also excited to see how this tank looks as it progresses.

Great videos John. I love watching Goby/shrimp pairs. Is there anywhere you can't grow zoas?! LOL I chuckled when I saw those growing in the sand by their burrow.

Was that the neon yellow sinulera (sp) I saw on the over all video?

Lol, I have those green zoas on their own little coral rubble so I can keep it off the rocks because I don't want it overtaking this tank. The shrimp likes to landscape and constantly plants it at his front door.

You are close on the coral ID, it's a neon green sinularia. I think Shawn may have a few frags of it for sale if I'm not mistaken.

I got my last fish that I'm going to add to this tank today, a flameback angel. Here are a couple of full tank shots and then some of my fish.

Beautiful John! I can't believe how fast you got that tank looking like that!

Watch that Flameback, mine has developed a taste for acans. Doesn't bother anything else so I'm gonna keep him and just not have acans or brain corals.

Is that a Vertex algae cleaner I see? How do you like it?

Thanks, a lot of the stuff has been with me from my 16g which has helped it come together more quickly than starting from scratch.

Yes, that's a vertex. I got it on Black Friday when BRS was having that awesome sale. It works great but doesn't take corner without help from the inside.

Almost a year since I updated this thread. Here a couple of photos of the tank. All the fish are the same.

Looking good John! Your photography skills are looking good too!

What is that in front of the toad stool and left of the duncan. Is it some small zoas?
