I brought a few fish home from NSA's open house Thurs - a green chromis, rainford's gobie, and a firefish. Also added some large pieces of LR and rearranged my aquascape. Saw the little firefish the first couple of days but haven't seen it since. Is it hiding?... or dead? I really don't want to get in there and move that rock around anymore- it was pretty stressful, but should I do that to see if I can find the firefish?
Green Chromis bit the dust about an hour ago - started out with a purple blotchy spot that looked like it was rotting - got worse through the day and then.... RIP. dang it. Still haven't seen the firefish... I hope he's hiding.... really, really hope he's hiding.
Firefish are known to hide like that. I rearranged my rock a couple of months ago and didn't see him for three days. Added a tang about a month ago....didn't see the firefish for three days. They are funny like that so hopefully he is in there.
HOLY FISH CRAP, BEANHEAD! I never thought of that! My tank isn't too open at the top, has a standard hood with places punched out for the filter & skimmer - but I poked around the back with a flashlight and didn't see anything. I'll keep my "nose" on alert for that all too awful smell though! Have I said good grief lately??? GOOD GRIEF!
