New Foxface

Discussion in 'Marine Fish' started by schillerstreetreef, Dec 30, 2008.

  1. I purchased a fox face from Kevin at Paradise Pets in Benton last week and he is doing great. It was a tough couple of days initially as my big purple tang made sure that he was aware of who was boss. I have enough hidding places for him to keep clear of the other fish and I was reassured that he was going to be ok when I could see him feeding in his hidding place. It has been a week now and he has figured out when feeding time is and can fend for himself. I had no problem getting him to eat Marine Flake II which I have never heard of the fox face's having any problems feeding - I will post some pictures of him tomorrow.

Sounds great!! I have two foxfaces that eat everything. They are good at eating algae off of the rock work also!! To me it is a must have fish.

I too agree that a foxface or any rabbitfish is a must have for a reef or coral frag system. They keep the algae in check as well as any fish you could add and I have never seen them bother any type of coral. Hope you find your problem with the sump system and you can get to growing out your frags for show in your main tanks.

The spines should keep the other fish away. My regal tang is quite wary of my foxface now.
