For the last several water changes I've been dumping my old water on an area where the effluent from our old water softener emptied (don't use now that we're on city water). The old site had become a salt lick for all the animals in the area, especially deer. They had stopped using it though after the water softener was unhooked.

Looked at it this morning and the deer have been wearing it out! Think I'll drill some holes in an old wash tub, fill it with some loose soil and dump my water in there. Let it evaporate and presto, instant salt lick. :D
