My duncan only seems to open at night, when I turn the light on in the morning it is open and then it closes and stays closed the rest of the day. Does anyone have any suggestions? I really like this coral but have had problems with it opening from day one.

where do you have the duncans located in your tank? If you are running strong lighting and if it is too high up I would move it down to the bottom of your tank.

  3. I have a large head of Duncan and its polyps are always out during the day and in at night. I did find this article on the Duncan (Duncanopsammia Axifuga) her that suggests that it can be nocturnal. I do feed mine saltwater pellet food about once a week - hope this helps.

Thanks you guys. Im gonna try moving it, its definitely toward the bottom of the tank but I'm gonna try putting it under an arch or something maybe it is a reaction to the light. The only lights I had were two power compact 96 watt bulbs but I have recently added a t5 fixture.
