Hello everyone. My name is Granville Vaughan. I am an avid aquarist with 12 years of reefkeeping experience, a biologist, and small LFS owner in Jonesboro, Arkansas. I've been here in NEA as a mobile service since 2005 and just opened the shop in October of 2011. I have 1500 square feet of freshwater, marine aquaria, and dry goods. We do qt and treat for disease and parasites, post on facebook what is coming and when weekly, and offer a full maintenance service with the company. We have 20 clients in the city including ASU, two local schools, a pediatricians office, and private homes. I realize that I am located away from most of you but I wanted to extend an invitation to check out my shop if any of you are ever in the area and offer a 10% discount to club members who can present a current membership card. I am not here to solely promote what I do. The shop is generally busy with lots of aquarium talk going on and aquariums are all I do. I truly look forward to meeting some of you and also to becoming active in your community. Please feel free to message me with any questions! Kind Regards.

Kevin, thank you for coming in. It was great to meet you and your wife. I did not expect to see someone representing Razorback Reef that soon. That tells me this club has its stuff together and I'm going to help this forum grow! Rather than try to do something similar for Jonesboro, I'll just steer everyone here. There are a lot of us here and BTW, I'm already out of club cards. It is true that we have a small shop right at 1500 sq ft of retail space. At first the location was perfect as we wanted to be visible. Within the past few months we have become crowded! You two missed the rush too! I did give your card to a friend of mine who was asking about a custom cabinet. Her name is Patsy for reference. Lastly, I do have another question about sponsorship. Does it begin and end on the date we sponsor?

    Kind Regards!

I talked to Chuck today and he is very interested in promoting RRMAS at his store. I will bring up the topic of his sponsorship at the meeting on Sat. and we can get him on board. He is interested in possibly having a meeting there in the next few months.

Norman I'm glad that you called today. I had worried about your thoughts on the subject of our chat. I am glad to know that everyone is on the same page! I thought that I'd go ahead and introduce my shop staff to you all. As I mentioned earlier my name is Granville Vaughan. Everyone that knows me calls me Chuck and it was even on my drivers license until I needed a passport! I have basically a lifetime of aquarium experience as my father always had freshwater aquariums and ponds. I've been keeping marine reef aquaria since 2000 but seriously since 2003. I began Reef Escapes really in early 2007 and stayed the sole emloyee until October of last year when the shop opened. Prior to that it was a mobile service company. I now maintain a reef at ASU, two other local schools, a pediatricians office and private homes. 17 of our 20 clients are reef aquariums. I am a biologist. I studied cnidarians and ecotoxicology and did quite a bit of field work in the Gulf of Mexico in the months folloring the BP oil spill. Currently I am a masters student studying again marine aquaria but I am focusing on the use of them as scientific teaching tools. I do have a Jr. Aquarist program in progress at one of my schools. Students are learning to maintain aquaria and are researching areas such as Chemistry, Ecology, etc. I now have a partner in the shop although he mostly helps me with the business end. His name is Eric Bacsa. Prior to opening the shop he was my oldest maintenance client in NEA. Our employees are Kyle who knows freshwater very well and has been learning marine for a few years, Joleen - has 30 years of marine aquarium experience with her husband, and Josh a college engineering student who loves aquaria. We look forward to meeting everyone and are glad to be here!
