Does anyone have any Nudibranchs? I've seen pictures of sea slugs and many of them are so beautiful but I haven't really seen any in person other than the Sea Hares at Petco. I would like to know your experiences with them if possible.

I had one as a hitchhiker was eating my goniopora.

As a general rule any nudi you get as a hitch hiker is going to be there cause he eats what he came in on. I've gotten nudi's with zoas and and acros.

There are some sea cucumbers that are relatively safe and very cool. The problem is if something goes wrong and they die they can release toxins in to your tank. In a small tank this could be disastrous. In a large one it probably won't be much of a problem.

Here's a picture of my yellow sea cucumber. Lousy picture but he's really cool looking. What you see here is his head end. They are filter feeders and those fern like appendages are waved in the flow and then brought to the mouth when it catches something. They don't move much once they find a spot they like. Mine has been in this spot by the green hairy mushroom for several weeks.

I was reading that there are some zoo eating ones that are really tiny and basically a pest. The yellow ones are really pretty. I saw some at Northside reciently.

Lettuce nudibranchs are reef safe. You'll see those for sale occasionally

That's not bad as long as I could get it from a store. Shipping is too high. I'm trying to decide between that and a single mantis shrimp if I can find one. I spoke to north side but he couldn't give me a price yet. Going to talk to the fish tank I guess tomorrow.
