I bought this skimmer about a month after I bought my BioCube tank. It has a very simple design - it works via an air-pump driven airstone that creates bubbles. Bubble level is controlled (sort of) by a regulator that is inline with the air tubing. This skimmer is advertised to work in all "nano" reefs up to 29 gallons. I couldn't disagree more. This could possibly be the biggest waste of $50 I have ever spent.

Pros: It fits nicely in the first chamber of the filter system with no modification to the BioCube tank or hood. It is relatively inexpensive in comparison to other skimmers.

Cons: Extremely underpowered for my 29g tank. I wouldn't buy this skimmer again in the first place, but I definitely wouldn't put it on a tank larger than about 10 gallons. Skims extremely wet (when it skims), and is very hard to adjust. The airstone has to be replaced periodically. Since it skims very wet, the cup has to be emptied daily.

    Summary:
This skimmer is aesthetically pleasing and adheres nicely to the all-in-one look, but just doesn't perform. Do yourself a favor - spend the extra cash and get a better skimmer the first time around. You will anyway eventually.
