My paly's seem to be discharging some brown stringy stuff from their mouths. They have done this several times in the past and everything seemed to be fine afterwords. I'm just curious what's up. Do I need to worry? What causes it. some of it is just a little small brownish black blob, some is like a string an inch long.

But I haven't been supplementing any food. I need to get some silver sides or brine for them and my acans (which are looking BIG and great). Only think they get is stuff floating in the tank.

If you feed your tank, they are eating too. They eat flake food and other things you feed. If you notice them close up as you feed, they are picking up the food in the tank as well as the fish.
