At our Feb meeting several people expressed an interest in traveling to Springfield, MO to visit The Planet Coral and participate in a frag demo/workshop.

The date is Sun April 5th.

The plan is to travel to Branson MO on Sat am, stay the night and travel on to Springfield Sun am. Kevin K is checking on motel space and will post options here. Times of departure and travel plans will be posted when confirmed.

I spoke to "Fish" at Planet Corals today and he is looking forward to our visit. Check out his website at www.theplanetcoral.com He has a great selection of corals and a beautiful facility.

I'm sure there will be some of you drive up and back in the same day and can post your travel plans here so maybe carpool arrangements can be worked out.

This should be a great trip and one you would hate to miss.

The kind of coral will depend on what we choose. He has the availability to get whatever we want. This may be the chance we've looked for to get those Acans.

He will sell the corals to be fragged to us at wholesale cost, usually an SPS, LPS, and softie.

The cost of the corals, method pf payment, and number of frags will be discussed at the March meeting. I will have some options for everyone to decide on.

The time to start will be determined at the meeting also. He said anytime would be ok with him, but we need to consider who is staying overnight, and who is driving in the same day.

Sunday was decided because some people wanted to stop in Branson on Sat.

How many People are planing on going and who will be staying the night in Branson. I can check for other hotels and maybe get better price if I know how many rooms we are going to get.
The wife and I are going to stay the night on Saturday then come home after the Fraging. There is another store in Springfield that has lots of nice saltwater fish and corals it is called Pet Land it is large chain store but is real nice and clean. They are right across the street from Batlefield Mall that has over 150 stores.

Hey everyone, we need to start getting some commitments. There were at least 15 hands at the meeting. We have to let Fish know when and how many to prepare for. I will start a thread for a definate headcount.
If we have at least 10 we can get a discount on rooms for the ones staying in Branson. Plus we could see about tickets to a show or dinner theatre for Sat night.

whats the costs for this ?

Cost for this trip is hard to determine. Your travel and hotel expenses depend on what you choose. I believe Kevin K has negotiated a price with the hotel if we reach a specific number of rooms. Haven't seen a post from Kevin so I don't know the exact price, have heard around $75.00. The normal room rate is $90.00. If you ride with someone or carpool the travel costs should be minimum. There is no cost for the demonstration as far as I know, but we will be responsible for the price of the corals to be fragged. Chris talked with him and I'm sure this information will be discussed at the meeting in Hot Springs on Sat.

The room will be $75.00 at the Grand plaza (417)336-6646 http://www.bransongrandplaza.com/ it is set up under my name Kevin Koplen if you want to go ahead and book it just add it to mine and give them your credit card info to hold your room. When we get 6 or more they will change it to a group under Razorback Reef. I have to call on Monday and let them know how many rooms we think we are going to need. Then they will have to be guaranteed on a credit card to get the $75.00rate. If you have already booked at this hotel you can call them and have it grouped to my booking. Or I can do it when I call on Monday if I have a list of names. If you have any Questions PM me or call at (501)416-1312.
