Polleni Grouper

  1. My major purchase at Reef Splash this year was a Polleni Grouper and he is one beautiful fish. It is yellow with blue bars throughout his body, a very stunning fish. I will post some pictures as he becomes more accustomed to the tank. I am always a bit nervous about getting fish to eat and when dangleing silver sides infront of him didn't work I started getting a little worried. I called and spoke with Norman who told me to just drop the silverside infront of his hole and leave it. Well that did the trick - thanks Norman. For what ever reason he would not take the food when it was held by my tongs or fingers but waisted no time eating it when it was alone.

Glad it worked for you Chris. Thats a very nice rare grouper and should make a nice addition to your collection. He should get more agressive with his feeding when he figures out your system. Kinda makes me want another agressive tank since no one wants to buy my 125.

  4. Grouper is really eating silversides well. I pushed some marine pellets in the belly of the silverside today just to add some nutrition. I may use some selcon or something in the future. He is a beautiful fish and I am in hopes that he will corme out of his cave more and more over time.
