I have noticed that my skimmer isn't skimming like it used to. I was wondering if anybody hae had this happen before. My bioload consists of a sailfin tang 2 chromis a snowfkake clown a yellow tailed blue damsel and a few corals that survived the snow storm power outage. I just changed my collection cup lastnight it was barely 1/4 full from a one month time period. Maybe my bio filtration is good and is absorbing all of the organics I'm not sure but its been goin on for a while. I do try to clean the skimmer every month but its always th e same.
May have a clogged air intake, dirty supply/feed pump, water level in the skimmer too low? Possibly a bad or going bad impeller. Not too much that can go wrong with them usually.
I flush that tube every chance I get. The only other thing it could be is the impeller. Water level may fluctuate 1/2 or less depending on the ato if its out of water.
