Ive been doing alot of research looking for the best fish to get. Id like to hear what yall think would be best. I want some clowns, but know its best to buy them in pairs when there young if you want two, and right now id like to start out with just one fish. I dont want it to be a damsel or something ill regret getting later on, the tanks cycled and according to API testing kit everything looks great. Ive been looking at a six line wrasse possibly or a gobie/blenny of some sort.

    Thanks-Robby

A pair of clowns would be your best bet for your first fish. They do not have to be a mated pair. You would just need to add them at the same time. Clown Fish have the ability to change sex. So if you introduced two males one would change to female or vise versa. I believe you would need to have a more established pod population for the other fish mentioned especially for gobies and the wrasse. I am no expert this is just my opinion and am sure someone else will chime in and add to it.

Six line wrasses can be aggressive when they get older. I would avoid them altogether or at least stock it last in your system. Have you thought about a Tangaroa goby and pistol shrimp pair. I think that they are really cool, and they will stay out of the way of the clowns when you decide to get them later. The tangaroa is a small fish with a light bioload and will eat just about any kind of meaty foods like frozen shrimp, etc. I have one and I have always enjoyed him. He will set right next to the burrow most of the time, but still has personality. You could also consider a midas blenny. It would be fine as long as your not adding a fireshish to your system. Sometimes the midas likes to nip at them. Just some suggestions... I am glad that you survived the cycle. Best of luck! Below I added some links to look at the suggestions.

Gracies suggestions are great, or a small pair of clowns would be also, they aren't much bio load if small. Whatever would please you the most to watch. The clowns would bring more open water moverment, the gobie and shrimp are cool to watch what they do, but not much open water movement. Both are good choices.

Here are the new additions with the tank, I think the clowns were the best choice, and by the way that club discount was nice saved a good amount of money. [IMG]

The clowns are great! When you get more rock and have a place for him to hide and rest you can add the Midas. I love mine!

After your tank gets a little older I have a nice anemone that the clowns would love. So don't go buy one just give me a shout and we can get one out of my tank, I got six of them. Its yours if you want one when the time comes.

Thanks I would love to have an anemone in my tank eventually. Ill be sure to remeber that and contact you when my tank ages some more, and I have my tank somewhat under control haha. Right now im just trying to get my corals and live rock situated so I can let it grow and not have to move stuff around getting things where I want them.
