    Hiya,

Okay, it's that time of the year to change my bulbs out. I'll be putting in two whites and a blue, but I've got the choice of a violet or a pink to round it out. Any opinions?

I am assuming you have a 4 bulb system? I have a 6 bulb ATI Sunpower and I run ATI bulbs. They are without a doubt one of the best bulbs on the market. They are VERY bright. I run 3 Blue Plus, 2 Aqua blue special, and 1 Purple plus. The color has a blue tint but not smurf blue. The Blue Plus bulbs combines the colors of a grow bulb and an Actinic, the Aquablue Special is a slight blue, about 12000K (grow bulb). Purple plus is self explanatory. If you go to BRS and look up ATI bulbs you can get a good break down of what does what.

Are you running a 48" system? When I do my bulb swaps I try to keep at least one of each as an emergency back up. I can let you try out my spare Blue Plus and Aqua Blue if you want.

From what I've read/seen in a 4 bulb set up I would run ATI (1) Coral Plus (1) Purple Plus and (2) Blue Plus. Agree ATI is the way to go. I have a 2 bulb fixture on my little frag tank and run 1 Coral Plus and 1 Blue Plus.

    Hiya,

I'll have to see what Kevin carries...and yes, I have a four bulb system. He thought I'd need to run two whites to make sure I had enough light. Thought of running one of each.

The best thing you can do to improve your T5 is use quality bulbs. What overall color are you looking for?

    Hiya,

I'd like to see growth on my corals! Granted, my softies are doing fine, but my LPS seem to be a little slow.

Nice chart John....that helps a lot!
