I have two ARO ballasts that are made to run 2 55/65 watt PC bulbs each. They have the little waterproof endcaps. I was wondering if I could cut those off and wire them to T5 endcaps and drive 2-39watt bulbs with each? Would it work? Would it overdrive them? Would it burn the house down (as long as I wire them right)?

im not sure but you can buy inexpensive ballast from most electrical suppliers around here pretty cheap. i bought 3 of the workhorse 7 ballast for around 27.00 each not long back and they are rated for 16' of bulbs each.

I don't know as I am pretty dumb when it comes to electicity, but I would for sure find out first. I would think you would be overdriving them. Drive down to an electrical supply place and take the stuff with you and ask them and not HD or Lowes, as who knows what experience you well get there.
