After introducing a couple new fish a week ago, my yellow tang started eating his poop... :shock: WHY?? Thanks so much for all the great responses to my first post! I'm already learning so much! Sorry about this disgusting post - guess I'm just putting myself out there!
Don't worry, your tang is normal. Fish are opertunistic feeders, its a survival mechinism. You will also notice that the tangs will eat mysis and brine and flakes even though they are considered to be vegitarians...
Most fish digestive systems are not very efficient (this is why most fish graze constantly) and the poop is very nutritious.
