I had the opportunity to check out TL Reefs in Mountain Home yesterday, and was really impressed. The owners were very nice, and the variety of corals was unreal. There were about 12 tanks stocked full with every coral you could think of. Even a tank full of gonipora in every color. (I found a frag of the red long polyped one like I've been wanting for $30) I did take a few photos. I have not seen this much varitey anywhere around. I know it's a drive, but it'd be worth checking out, or maybe even having a meeting at. They also have a website, and ship orders. So that may be an option if you can't make it to Mountain Home. But I know those of you in the club who love SPS will go crazy. I wish I would've got more photos. Especially the gonipora tank. But there were like two tanks filled with zoas, about 4 PACKED with sps colonies and frags, and the rest filled with LPS, softies, clams, and anemones.
My red goni that I picked up from them is starting to polyp out. This is under 10k lighting, so you can tell that it is the real color of the coral. But they had a huge colony of this one that looked really awesome.
I can't remember if they were Radions or not, they look like my radions in some of the shots where you can see the lighting box. I do wonder what schedule he is running though. Everything was beautifully colored when I went in.
Yeah, I believe it was two tanks worth of zoas, in all colors. I didn't buy any though. I've been so scared to buy anything after my recent disaster. (Although my zoas have been fine) The goni was a risk, but I'm going to try. I also picked up two gorgonians for $15 each and some pulsing xenia. I rode with my family, so I was kind of rushed to get some stuff and leave. I might would've picked up some zoas too.
Thanks for the awesome review! I'm glad you were able to find some good pieces for your tank. To answer the questions about lighting, we have AI Hydra 26's over most of the tanks, and ATI Dimmable SunPowers on the acro tanks. The lights are on during store hours (9am-7pm). The LED spectrum and intensity varies on each tank based on what we are keeping in there.
Yep, $15 shipping within Arkansas, and free if your order is over $150! We have two types of ORA xenia in stock right now. The silver xenia and PomPom xenia. Sorry but no macro algae...
Do y'all have more sps colonies in store than you do online? I see a lot more in these pictures then are available online or have the sold already?
I'm thinking road trip next weekend.....my alk/calcium are too steady. Need some more SPS to increase the demand!
