Noticed this a couple days ago, it seemed as if it was going away, but last night it was worse than before. Latest additions to the tank are a couple chromis and a couple firefish, but no new coral for over 6 weeks.

What is this stuff? It looks like brown jelly.

Take a tooth brush to it and clean it up some...take care of it... If the others head die just let them go but try to keep the cluster taken care of... I have one head that I have nursed back from death like this one that was once the size of a nail head and now is the size of a quarter that I am hand feeding. Just take care of it and dont let that stuff grow all over it and keep it clean and your water params right and it will live.. fail to do so is going to be a loss...

I am sure it can come back but it takes some intervention...

k wasn't sure if it was skin that was loose or something that needed to come off.

I would not take a tooth brush to it, you'll just spread brown jelly all over the tank. Take your water change hose and siphon it off that way it all goes down the drain instead of on another  prized coral.

Its on a frag plug... I dont think its attached... I think he can take it out and clean it off.. It wont hurt it... I have done it tons of times... Of course you dont need to brush the tissue of the coral or anything but a the slime on the skeleton would be fine...
