[p align="inherit":260gadft]Today Sam Grimmett exemplified what this organization is truly about; he shared his time, wisdom, and skills to assist a new reefer in the development of a new tank. He installed new T5's, shared his wisdom to help re-arrange my sump for optimal performance, worked though the issues with an ATO, brought insight that would have come after much frustration all without want or need (he even turned down a steak dinner). Through members like Sam this organization exceeds expectations.[/p:260gadft][p align="inherit":260gadft]Thanks Sam;[/p:260gadft][p align="inherit":260gadft]Greg[/p:260gadft]
Guys i agree Sam is tha man. He really helped me out with my stand and canopy build i love it. To top it off he is one heck of a DIY. You should see all the frag disks, domes, and super disks he has made.
+1 with the cabinet and canopy. It looks as great and probably better disigned than most store bought.
Well Sam to the rescue again, but first the story......So I'm getting ready for work and smell smoke, never a good thing. I'm going all over the house and finally look behind my tank to see smoke coming from my LED driver. I quickly unplug it and as soon as I touch the wire thats smoking, it breaks into. So now I have the only lights on in my reef tank is a cheap T5 fixture, which was kinda of like having night lights on without the LED brightness and intensity. Anyways.....No lights for two and half days until Sam came over and fixed the wire in literally less than 30 seconds......yeah I felt kinda dumb it was that easy, but he got my lights back on. Thanks Sam!!!!!!
It is without a doubt SOUTHERN hospitality! not trying to stir up anything with the yankees on here but I have family up in Minnesota and when we go to visit, people look at you like you have an arm growing out of your head if you ask them how their day is going. And sweet tea is a seasonal drink!!!! That alone is enough reason to never live north of the mason dixon..... lol
Ive only talked to him a couple times at meetings but hands down dude is a total badass. He is what is key to anyhobby. without guys like that its just not fun being part of a club.
I can remember before I even joined RRMAS Sam took like two hours of his time one night to talk to me on the phone. He offered to drive 3 hours one way just to help me with my overflow. We are truly blessed to have him in this organization. Now with that being said I want to add that we have LOTS of good people in this organization. Norman always has time to help anyone and loves working with people. Chris works tirelessly to make sure things get organized and carried through. Blake has a wealth of knowledge and is always willing to share it with a fellow reefer. There are many many faces in the club that deserve recognition. This is a wonderful club to be a part of.
Without this club and members help I would be relying only on internet and LFS advice......which got me no where fast.......until...........
