Whelk or nassarius?

    I didnt buy this guy. None of the nassarius I bought are this big so it's definitely a hitch hiker.

    Looks like the whelks that I have in my fuge. They will dine on your other snails.

    Thank's John. I put him in my sump after the pics so I guess my instincts were right. I have been losing smaller snails for a few weeks but thought I had the cuprits when I caught 4 polyclad worms. I bet this guy was partly responsible too.

    Good move getting that one out. Just one of the things you have to deal with with rock straight from the ocean.
